Hello, my name is Ben Mockabee owner and operator of Ben Mockabee Photography. I have been a longtime hobbyist who decided last fall (Nov. 2015) to pursue this business full time. I'm excited for the journey that I have decided to take.

I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. I am married to the love of my life and have an awesome stepson who keeps me on my toes constantly. I've worked lawncare and landscaping my whole life, I value hard work. I'm a huge foodie, serious coffee snob and an avid outdoor enthusiast.

 

I started off  photographing mostly landscapes and I really loved it. But over the past few years my  passion  has shifted towards portrait photography. I love capturing raw emotions and feels. I really love interacting and forming new relationships with people and their families.  I love a properly executed and well planned portrait, but often times for me it's the in between moments that really get my juices flowing. That moment when my subject doesn't think the shutter is clicking and they are in their natural state. That's my mission, that's what I'm trying to create here. 

 

I feel my style is more of an editorial type, trying to capture you and or your loved ones in a natural relaxed state. My editing takes on a cinematic feel but is subject to change a bit from client to client and location to location. I learn something new about myself and my photography everyday and every shoot and I feel it evolves constantly for the better.
